I bought my Mustang in early 1986 in Southern California, jumping blindly into the vortex of pony car restoration-ism. in 1987, I drove the car home (to Tacoma) on a marathon, 18-hour drive wrought with high speed and blown radiator top seal. I spent the better part of December '89 block-sanding and priming in preparation for new paint.
Here's where my memory gets sketchy. Sometime in the early 90's, i pulled the 289 for a 3-month rebuild, culminating in a very torquey Mustang. Sometime prior to August of 1994 (when I got out of the Navy), I started on an ignition project. I was installing a Duraspark distributor when the oil pump shaft demonstrated the passibility (is that a word?) to the oil pan...ker-plunk!. The result was near-12-year anger vent, leaving the Mustang under a cover (and empty baby furniture and Fender Twin boxes).
Last month, I purchased the fog-light housings and last week I purchased the switch, wiring and mounting brackets for those lights. Also, I puchased an MSD Blaster 2 coil (with mounting bracket) and MSD Duraspark rotor and cap kit.
